Helen (Bouscaren) Alliston

About Helen

Before relocating to the Bay Area in 2012, Helen rode and trained in Seattle Washington. Helen attended The University of Western Washington from 2009 to 2012. During that time she took advantage of opportunities to train under strong Eventing riders such as Rebecca Howard, Jessica Heidemann, Robin Hahn, Nick Holmes-Smith, Deitrich VonHopfgarten, Kim VonHopfgarten and Jeremy Steinberg.   In 2012, Helen left Seattle to pursue FEI goals in California under the guidance of James Alliston. Helen reached the Two-star (now Three-star) level in the fall of 2012 and the Advanced level in the spring of 2013, at which point she and James opened up East Bay Riding Academy. The riding academy aims to give young riders a strong foundation in Eventing.   Helen’s successful 2013 season earned her a qualification for the prestigious Rolex Kentucky Three-Day. In 2014 and 2015, Helen was talent spotted onto the prestigious Eventing 25 Developing Riders program to ride with David O’Connor in the spring training sessions.   In November 2019 Helen & James got married at Galway Downs in Temecula with their family, friends, and clients in attendance!
