About James
James graduated with a degree in Geography from Oxford University in the UK in 2006. James trained under many elite riders in England such as Andrew Hoy and John Mastin. James established himself as a promising young rider in England before heading to the U.S. to work for Bruce Davidson Sr. Under Bruce’s guidance, James rode numerous horses through the advanced and four star levels. James was with Bruce for seven years before venturing out to the West Coast. On the West Coast, James built himself up as a trainer for both horses and riders. He has shown continuous success on many different horses at the four and five star levels. James has brought five young riders to the advanced level and now runs the largest competition barn in CA. He is a ICP Level 4 certified instructor and brings over 25 riders to the local shows and has a large program and pool of students both in the east bay area and Woodside/Peninsula areas. In November 2019 Helen & James got married at Galway Downs in Temecula with their family, friends, and clients in attendance!
