James has a very strong track record of finding very nice young horses and matching them with riders. Having produced three horses to the four-star level he knows what to look for in a young horse to be an upper level prospect. James’ long time position with Bruce Davidson Sr. also gives him the experience and knowledge in both finding young talent and producing those horses through the levels. James has built strong connections with breeders throughout California as well as maintained his connections with English breeders and sales barns.
James has recently imported a few horses from Ireland through Cooley Farm who show huge potential for eventing or show jumping.
James is unique in his strong ability and experience with starting/breaking young horses which gives our customers the opportunity of buying unbroke horses for James to start and put a strong foundation on before handing them off to their new rider.
If you are interested in finding your next upper level event or show jumper, James offers full services in horse buying both locally and internationally.
16 hand 8 year old Thoroughbred mare competed through Training level successfully with a junior rider and most recently Intro with a beginner rider. Safe sound and proven to be a good teacher for kids. Very sweet on the ground. Clips, hauls, good for farrier. Easy keeper, good on trails owned by same people since she was three years old off the track.

16.3 hand 2007 Thoroughbred gelding shown through Preliminary with professional and Novice with amateur/junior rider. Good mover and simple to ride in all three phases. Always very competitive at shows and been in the same program for past six years. Previously used in a lesson program for kids and adults. Great amateur horse through training level, needs a confident ride for preliminary but proven to be competitive at that level. $30k
